Hello there Peachies!

Here are some cards that I made with the new stamp releases, peachy picks and action wobbles! All of the new stamp sets will be available on our site on Saturday! Don't miss the release party on The Peachy Keen Connection site either!! There are some good prizes to be had!! Two challenges are going on too!! One is at Lorie Souther's blog and one of the challenges is at Cristina Garcia's blog ( you have the weekend to create with). Many of our designers will be available to chat live with you! :) It is this Saturday from 10 am to 11am CST ... I will be there.. will you?

The card above was made with two stamps. The gnome is from the PKSC-03 March 2013 and the thank you sentiment is from PK-562 Gnomegrown.
I used the Peachy Picks Kit for all of my cards! Above is Thinking of you... (inside"makes me smile!") This sentiment is from PK-284 Spring Bouquet. The rest of the card was stamped with combos of PKSC-03 March 2012 Set.
This thank you note was so fun to make! I liked it so much that I made the same card twice! The thank you stamp is from PK-562 Gnomegrown and the wreath and the face are in the Stamp Club of the Month PKSC-03 March 2012.

This card was made with just the PKSC-03 March 2012 Above is the outside and below is the inside
Above is a card I made with my sister and my brother in law in mind. They have moved after 20+ years in the same house.. to a beautiful place on a pond! Every stamp image on here is on the PKSC-03 with the exception of the "Just a gnote" sentiment at the bottom of the card.

SVG Attic and Peachy Keen Stamps are cross promoting our products! The faces look so cute on Jessica's SVG files! I had to go back to January of 2009 to try to remember how to cut an SVG.. but I finally figured it out at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon.

As soon as I have all the details on the prizes and how you can win, I will post them here. For this project I used SVG Attic's Pumpkin Patch SVG Collection. The faces on the pumpkins are from PKS's new PK-694 The Uglies ... They sure are ugly but OH so fun for Halloween!! With the assortment, you could cut Jessica's pumpkin trio in MANY different sizes and have plenty of faces and even some to spare!! :)

Hi Again!

I found out some new information from one of my sisters (Sheryl) this morning!!

This was my Dad at about age 15 (maybe 16) ... sitting inside of his Dad's Model T. Initially I thought he was older... but he sure does look young here!! Apparently, he had always wanted to be a sailor and join the Navy! Isn't he just adorable with this sailor hat on! My Dad served in the Navy, during the Korean War on the USS Melvin 680 DD... We were all so very proud of this amazingly handsome and awesome man! The actual photo is a black and white picture, scanned and printed on NORMAL setting from my ink jet printer on white Copic cardstock. I colored him with my copics and cried the whole time! My sister, JOANNE is an amazing replica of our Dad. I knew when I was at Kohl's Department Store that this frame was made for this picture... but it needed some color!! I miss my Dad! I thought he was invincible!

He was and is and always will be .. MY HERO!!

PS... Last night was the first night my Mom stayed by herself in her new house.. alone. Please keep the prayers coming for her. We have all been surviving on your prayers and well wishes!!

I glued and glittered one of Nikki's crocheted flowers and made it into a shamrock .. on the end of a popsicle stick .. made it so the sentiment would slide out from under the first glittered layer on the card.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I cannot bring myself to put these away for a whole 10 months so they will be left out and dressed accordingly for each holiday. I have a ton more pics of these but they are trapped in my phone! This pic doesn't show any of the detail very well.
I had so many sweet comments on Facebook that I decided to post how I made the GIANTS!! I had my friend, Woody at Apple Pie Memories cut these out for me out MDF ( which is like wood only it doesn't warp). It was great fun as Woody cut these out for me in MINUTES right in front of me. Video is also trapped in my phone! Woody can cut anything for you too.. I have a link above to his contact information.
I succeeded at taking all of December OFF to play with all the fun stuff I have been collecting this year!! It was just an awesome time for me!
To paint on MDF.. first you need to seal it. I sealed mine with DecoArt spray matte sealer and finisher. Stunk up the warehouse pretty bad! You can use any water based sealer on it - brush on or spray.
I then based the bodies with Americana Acrylic Cocoa using a sponge roller. Let dry then gave another coat of the same. If you have ever painted from any of my books or patterns you will know what color meshing is. I color meshed Cocoa, Honey Brown and Moon Yellow over the entire surface of each. Color meshing is awesome because it not only covers great.. you also get a great texture! I will have video explaining this technique coming to you next week.
The gumdrops and hair are separate pieces so those were painted separately. They were adhered to the gingers with heavy duty velcro.
There is a ton of glitter and super fun color in these.. the pattern is in my head.. all of the product I used is by DecoArt (maker of Americana Acrylics) and Martha Stewart Glitter. THEY WERE SUPER FUN TO MAKE and I plan to add to the collection over the next few years! Much love to all and thank you for your sweet comments on Facebook! I loved reading all of them! I cannot begin to tell you what an awesome birthday I had! I still can't believe so many people knew and I didn't find out! It was an awesome birthday surprise... it took awhile for it to sink in.. exactly the scale of it! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR AN AWESOME BIRTHDAY THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET!! The cards and gifts were just the icing on the birthday cake. I have them all in my office and I get all tingly whenever I see them! Even More Ornaments!

Above is SnowKid2 in chipboard. I painted it into a ginger instead. I used our Thanksgiving Weekend Free Stamp in her belly for added fun! A little bit of bling and my super fun Americana Acrylics to add color and basecoat. I used a slightly dampened sea sponge to basecoat all of my ginger ornaments with Americana Acrylic colors: Camel, Honey Brown and Raw Sienna... I shaded the body and face by floating either Raw Sienna and / or Russet. Other colors used to paint the stamp in the belly are Lamp Black, Tangerine, Raspberry, Titanium White, Tuscany Red, Williamsburg Blue +Titianium White to shade with. The hat was painted with basecoat of Tuscany Red then shaded with Russet and highlighted with burnished Titanium White.

I also added some of the new DecoArt Glamour Dust paints for a really bright and fun shimmer. We have just added these to our site and I have to say.. I totally LOVE THEM! They come in the form of paint.. however the base of the paint is a mere tint and the shimmer from the ultra fine glitter is exceptional! I used the hot pink, orange colors of glitter on the above project.

Items at Peachy Keen Stamps that I used to make these:

OH HOW FUN these were to make! Super Simple out of Chipboard SnowLady and Top Hat Snowman.
BODIES:
1.I love to paint so I opted to paint my snow bodies with a very slightly damp sea sponge and Americana Acrylics (Mocha). You can even do them in any light color you choose! Keep sponging until covered. When dry, flip over and paint the back if you have any warping. Most of the time, when dry on one side they will flatten.
2. I used distress ink and foam applicator to shade around the head, body and arms.
3. Stamp the face with StazOn ink
4. I painted the color detail in the faces with my trusty brushes and Americana Acrylics.
** Note: how the white highlights show up so nicely when you use a different color for the snow bodies.. :)

CLOTHES/HATS:
I made the clothes and hats with scraps of coordinating cardstock paper. To do this:
1. Lay your chipboard piece on the back of the paper you are using and trace.
2.Cut it out giving yourself a little extra room.. for a "just in case" episode (LOL.. my middle name is "just in case") ...
3. Adhere the cardstock piece to the chipboard with a glue stick. ( I like Aleene's Gluestick the best for this)
4. Use sandpaper to remove the excess paper around the edges.
5. Use distress ink and foam applicator to finish edges.

Finish:
1.Punch a hole if using for an ornament in the hat pieces before assembly
2. Adhere the pieces in place with Zip Dry glue or glue dots (I used both on mine)
3. Finish off by adding fun embellishments and Glistening snow texture as shown.

NEW ORNAMENTS at Peachy Keen!!

NEW AT PEACHY KEEN STAMPS!! Acrylic Ornaments! The clear acrylic ornaments come with paper adhesive on each side. GOT COPICS?? and an airbrush?? This was really fun! Take the paper off of one side of the ornament and airbrush with your vibrant copic colors to match your decor! When copic color dries - remove the paper from the other side of the ornament and stamp your face with JetBlack StazOn ink. I used acrylic paint over the StazOn to paint the mouth, and highlighted with white acrylic paint under the eyelines. In the snowflake I painted the inside of the eye whites. So super cute and oh so easy! To make these, I used my 1 3/8" face from PK-460 Happy Lashes and on the snowflake I used PK-471 Happy New Year 1 1/8"

I also used twine from The Twinery. :) LOVE THAT STUFF.. PKS will be carrying that soon too!

MORE PICTURES will be posted after I make the mashed potatoes. :) HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!

I used a new product that we are carrying to make the icing on the gingerbread teardrop. It is a snow writer by DecoArt.. LOVE THIS STUFF!! Sprinkle glitter on it while it's wet for added sparkle!

I am brand new to Peachy Keen stamps and this blog. Gotta tell you, I don't know how I missed these. These mice are just the cutest!!!! Luv'em. Can't wait to see the rest but they will be hard to top these. Favorite mouse story - I worked with all men, and when we arrived to work one morning we found several baby mice around one of the trash cans. I have never seen so many men scatter all at once. One even jumped up on the desk to avoid them as they tried to scurry away. It was hilarious.

RE: My Al Gingerbread above was colored with copics and I totally OD'd on the Tim Holtz distress.. Grabbed a color way to dark.. After spending a REALLY long time coloring I was disappointed that it came out so dark. :( I will keep practicing with these Copics and the distress inks ... until I get my colors just right! I already have a list of colors I would like to see in Copic.. do you think they would listen if I suggested them? LOL.. just wishing. Hope you are all having a great day!

WEE HEE... and we're hoppin! I feel like such a stranger here.. It isn't often that I get to play with the stamps that we make. I'm too busy making NEW ones!! A Peachy Keen Winter Release Peek!

Woo hoo... it's time for another BIG RELEASE!! This time we have MORE THAN WE COULD EVEN HANDLE!! We have NEW STAMPS.. NEW DIES with STAMPS and a BLOG HOP... A SALE and MORE!

The card above and below both were colored with copics and adorned with K&Co Spooktacular DT
On both of the pumpkin cards I used PK-635 Haunted Pumpkin House and PK-636 Pumpkin House Accessories.

Treat box is paper-pieced with images from PK-635 Haunted Pumpkin House, PK-636 Pumpkin House Accessories and PK-630 Nikkity Knack Cat. The box is paper mache and I painted it Lamp Black with my Americana Acrylic Paint.

PK-634 Frankly... I dig 6 feet for chocolate! Colored in copics. I used DP by K&Co Halloween designed by Tim Coffey
LOL.. these two little stamps are in the PK-634 Frankly set and worked perfectly for a mini candy bar holder.. YES.. I attached the little candy bar with dental floss!! I colored the tooth with copics.. :)

A Peachy Hop!

I am SO excited about the new dies I designed for CottageCutz! These are some of my most favorite designs and seeing them in a whole new way has been a truly rewarding experience. A whole new realm of paper crafting awaits you (and me!) as you use our designs in your die machines! For my card, I used the Happy Bird. The face cuts, however, the cuts are not thick enough to see a piece of black cardstock behind them. So, to get the detail, I used Americana acrylic paint (Mississippi Mud) with a liner brush, but a thin Micron pen would work just as well and give you the same effect! I colored her originally in with Copics, and dotted acrylic paint for dimension. I used the original stamp set for the sentiment. The original was very pale so I went back and painted her in acrylics. So much more vibrant!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Hope you had as much fun as I did this week with the blog! We sure had a ball!! It was like CRAZY FUN! I just wanted to show you all my card I made for my Dad this week. I was a very sassy kid and my grandma (Dad's mom) called me a PILL! LOL.. I think my Dad will laugh in sheer delight when he opens this! I love my DAD!! He's the coolest 79 year old ever! I wish you could all meet him! He's quick witted, smart and oh so lovable! He is everyone's friend and he is just as handsome as he ever was! Happy Father's Day my DAD!! Thanks for not killing me growing up! HA HA HA...

We have a very special release coming out tomorrow! One of our design team members has been having a really tough six months and we wanted her to know how very special she is to us. Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 25

How fun this was to make! I was in a huge hurry, as always. He turned out kinda cute and made me smile. I hope he will make my friend smile as she goes through a very tough surgery tomorrow. Of course, this card will be late but I sent something out ahead of time for her. I used all kinds of scraps and my trusty dusty acrylics to make this quick card. I also used some hot pink grosgrain ribbon, clear circle bubble stickers by Scrap Essentials at JoAnn Fabric and a few touches of crystal ice stickles. I found a fun bright yellow flower and a turquoise sticky gem in my stash. I used the new PK-266 Duck Dolls to stamp both the duck and the saying. Get Well, Ducky! :)

Happy Birthday to Lucy today!!

Our oldest grand-daughter turns two today! I haven't met anyone quite like her! Lucy LOVES to cook :) Pa-Pa Dave and I gave Lucy and Marlee a toy size kitchen for Christmas to accommodate their desire to "help". For quite a while now, Lucy will get a big bowl, bucket or anything that might do for a soup pot and a big spoon and stir imaginary soup. She says she's "Makin' Soup"!! Now she puts fake food in the pot, stirs and lifts the spoon to your mouth for you to taste. Mmmmm .. it is the best soup ever! :)

I thought a little apron and oven mitts would be fun for her birthday.. this is as far as I got. I painted our new veggie stamps on her little apron and used her own quote. I haven't painted much on fabric but I have the whole line of So-soft fabric paints by DecoArt. They sure work nice!! I hope she likes it! :) I will have to take a pic of Lucy wearing this after Grama gets it pressed.

This hardly took me any time at all using a face stamp - all the more simple. I painted the entire thing from raw wood to finished in 58 minutes (including to stamp.. that took all of a second)! Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 16 ~ From Angelica

Challenge 16 asks to just use a Peachy Keen face - any craft, any medium. The possibilities were limitless, but this is what I decided on.

I've been so excited (I could hardly control myself when I saw it at the store) about this paper stack - Mi Casa by DCWV. It was sold exclusively at Michael's this summer (I just got it a couple weeks ago!), but they said they will have it again (and the matching solid stack) at Joann's and independent retailers in February. Phew!

SO, I decided to make a recipe card. My mom loves my chicken tortilla soup, she doesn't realize (until now, of course) just how easy it is to make. I just throw everything into a crock pot (shhh...)!

I used various sheets in the stack, and cut my doll (supposed to be me? ha) from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cart. All the clothes are also from that cart. The face (my favorite face set, seriously!) is from the Laughy Taffy assortment set. I used two Spellbinders embossing and cutting dies for her little background embellishments. I colored her with Copics and also inked the edges of her clothing with Copics as well. The type was positioned and printed off my computer. The font is FREE here: www.kevinandamanda.com/fonts. So many fun fonts, you have to go check them out! I also used a Martha Stewart lace edger puncher outer (I don't know what the heck they're called. I was up until 3 a.m., I'm just glad I am awake and able to dress myself at this point). Oh and I also inked the edge of the card with Tim Holtz distressing ink in Vintage Photo. I LOVE this stuff! I have it in three colors, and I think I'm going to buy the rest...it's addicting! Sorry the photos are so dark. I tried six times to get the lighting I was looking for, but alas, my camera would not cooperate.

I have my own blog that I'm starting (finally) but of course, I accidentally deleted it last night. So, today I'll reinstall it and offer the link once it's up. :) Thanks for checking out my project, can't wait to see all the cards in our next challenge!

For all who are interested in the recipe, I've posted it below. This recipe is so versatile, and can be spiced up or down depending on your tastes. I don't recommend adding too much more lemon as it tends to overpower the other flavors. I love lemon, though, and will usually add a bit more lemon juice to my individual serving. :)

Ingredients

2-3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 tsp ground cumin
2 (14.5 oz) cans chicken broth
1 1/2 c frozen corn kernels
1 (15.5 oz) can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1 c chopped onion
1/2 tsp chili powder (optional)
1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice (I use fresh squeezed for best taste)
2 c chunky salsa (your favorite variety)

8 oz tortilla chips (optional)
1/2 c shredded monterey jack cheese (optional)
1/3 c sour cream (optional)

Directions

Add all ingredients into crock pot (except tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream) and simmer on low for 6-8 hours or on high until chicken juices run clear.

Just prior to serving, take chicken out of crock pot and allow to cool enough to touch. Shred and add back into soup. Serve over tortilla chips if desired. Top with cheese and sour cream.

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 15 Sample Card

This was super quick and fun! I used Debbie Mumm Holiday Glitter Cardstock from JoAnn Fabric, Copics to color and that great new MS punch for the branches. I added some Crystal ice stickles to the branch punched pieces and here and there on the snowman's coals and nose. This is PK-307 Snow Happy stamp package from peachykeenstamps.com. Sure hope I get better at this card making business.. LOL! For some true talent.. go see the awesome design team samples on our challenge blog!! :)

Peachy Keen HALLOWEEN Challenge

Happy Halloween!!

We hope that you will join us for a very quick and simple challenge for Halloween! Please see the details here. I used an unpublished stamp by me. I colored the stamped image and the moon with my Copics. It is hard to tell from the pic but I layered the pumpkins and the tombstone. I also used the haunted house (looks like a castle to me) from Cricut PD and a bat stamp from PK-612. My friend, Lisa sent me a beautiful box of goodies in the mail yesterday.. with the DRIPPY GOO punch that I have been wanting to get and unable to find. She sent me lots of other goodies including a beautiful gourd Jack o lantern lamp! :)KathyJ

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 12 Samples

Sorry for the delay! You don't want to miss this challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog! Make an Ornament! You can use any medium or surface that you would like! Your ornament must have the following:

I couldn't find my camera the other morning so I scanned my ornaments.. It worked out okay but I'm sure a photo would have been better. I painted these large stamps (PK-405 and PK-406 Sugar n Spice Boy and Girl)and cut them out. I used double sided sticky foam to pop the gingers off of the surface. They turned out okay but you have to see what our designers did!

Good Morning!

I wanted to make a card for my sister, Mary. My siblings have always encouraged me and given me the confidence that I need to keep designing. Mary and I did a lot of craft shows together for several years before I ever wrote any books or made stamps. :) Good times! Her favorite color is orange and she LOVES her flower gardens! Happy Birthday, Mary!! With my limited time, I totally used this challenge for motivation to make her card.. and almost in time to have it sent to her. I missed that deadline though... and she will get it a couple days late because of the long weekend. :(

Challenge 08 and 09 Samples

Hi!

Thanks for stopping by. Sorry for my delayed updates. It has been a long week while I was gone and then to come back and ATTEMPT to catch up has been - well.. busy!

This week's challenge was very simple. We had to make a card and incorporate a square, circle and star into the card. I had to scan my card because I had like zero time to take a pic and upload it on the other computer. This was just quicker. I put a piece of red cardstock behind it when I scanned it. It isn't part of the card.

The actual card is meant to be a note card or in this case, a "snote" card. It was a super duper quickie card. It is only 4 1/4 x 4 1/4" finished size.

100lb Mohawk Neon White Cardstock for the actual card and for the snowman

Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge 07 Sample

PAINT + DecoArt Stamping Medium to stamp the BOO and the outline of the ghost

I painted all of the elements to this card a while ago. The ghost and Boo were painted on a purple paper bag. The plastic tags (called 'start-ups) and buttons are available at Buttons Galore and More. I actually made a pattern packet with these and made pins out of them. I'm sorry to say that I don't have a paint list for you.

I found that if you want something to really appear white - paint it on a dark background, allowing some of the background color to show through - this will give you plenty of depth. Also, whenever you want to use acrylic paint to STAMP with, apply the paint + stamping medium directly to your stamp with a make-up sponge. I used this technique to stamp the ghost (in Titanium White) and the Boo (in Cadmium Yellow).

I had a chance to play but only for a little bit today! I actually have had this guy painted for quite some time and in my stash. I used red chalk for his cheeks and if I recall, I used the following Americana Acrylics to paint him (if not.. this is pretty close and will work fine):

I found this cheapy little vinyl album at Wal-mart with a pretty ugly front on it that was just a piece of printed cardstock. When I got home, I traced out that ugly cardstock on the back of this bright and cheery argyle for both the front and back. The argyle cardstock is from PC Grade School Stack. I cut the Snowman (6") from the Cricut Cartridge, Stretch Your Imagination and used a face from PK-522 Winter Faces 1 1/4". He looks okay for a 15 minute put together job! LOL

Here are all of my DT samples that I have made since Peachy Keen Stamps started doing challenges. I have included myself on our Design Team, mostly to make myself get some "FUN" in!! These were all a blast to make and I look forward to making more! I will supply a color palette for my future projects done in Americana Acrylics or in Copics. Please note that I have a Basic Supply List for painted cards in the right hand column.

Here it is .. my own blog! Thank you, Angelica, for getting this started for me. (Angelica is my oldest daughter) It will be fun to make, create and converse! I miss interacting with customers as Dave and I don't do conventions anymore. Our online business consumes MOST of our time and energy. I've SO enjoyed my life in designing yet I know there is much to learn and so many things to create. Come along on my journey!! :)
